DEMOCRACYWISE – Defending Empowered Media, Openly Cultivating
Resilience and Creating YouthWise Inclusive Social Engagement

The DEMOCRACYWISE project is a dynamic initiative focused on promoting strong citizen involvement and participation. Its main mission is to provide communities with knowledge, tools and platforms to actively combat disinformation, while fostering an informed and active citizenry.

Main objectives:

  1. Community-led discourse: DEMOCRACYWISE will catalyse open and informed dialogues within communities, enabling citizens to interact critically with media content. By creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration, the project aims to increase collective awareness.
  2. Citizen empowerment: Through a series of local events, workshops and interactive activities, DEMOCRACYWISE will empower citizens to be proactive in fact-checking and media literacy. By strengthening individual and collective capacities, the project will fortify communities against disinformation.
  3. Inclusive participation: The project will promote inclusiveness by actively involving citizens from different backgrounds, age groups and experiences. It will address potential discrimination and strive to ensure equal participation for all.
  4. Digital resources: DEMOCRACYWISE will create an online ecosystem that will include a comprehensive toolkit, an interactive website and social channels. These digital resources will be accessible for sharing information, verification tools and building communities.
  5. Evaluation of impact: Rigorous monitoring and evaluation processes will measure the impact of project activities, encouraging continuous improvement and adjustments to ensure effectiveness.
  6. Sustainability and knowledge sharing: The project will develop a sustainability plan to extend its impact beyond its initial duration. Documentation will also be created to share insights, best practices and lessons learnt for the benefit of future initiatives.
