European Co-Creation in Diversity (EU-CODE)

A European Cultural Initiative for Inclusive and Innovative Wind Orchestras

European Co-Creation in Diversity (EU-CODE) is a European cultural initiative dedicated to reshaping the landscape of wind orchestras through inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration.

Running over a 30-month period, EU-CODE brings together four dynamic partners:

  • Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome (Italy)

  • Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungary)

  • Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain)

  • ACe20 – Communication for Europe (Italy)

Together, we believe in the transformative power of music as a tool for social inclusion, cultural exchange, and creative growth.

Our Mission

EU-CODE seeks to:

  • Promote co-creation among wind orchestras and European musicians

  • Foster cultural diversity and gender inclusion within musical practices

  • Highlight body percussion as an inclusive, accessible, and engaging musical form

  • Encourage sustainable approaches to cultural production and artistic mobility

What We Do

1. Exchange of Best Practices
Workshops and research activities focus on the artistic and organizational development of wind orchestras — from audience engagement and inclusivity to sustainability and creative innovation.

2. Musician Mobility
Through seminars and exchange programs, musicians travel, collaborate, and explore key issues such as gender equality, environmental responsibility, and musical experimentation.

3. Co-Creation and Artistic Residencies
Artists from across Europe join forces in collaborative residencies to create new compositions, merging traditional wind instruments with body percussion while celebrating European cultural diversity.

4. EU-CODE Festivals
Two major festivals will showcase the project’s outcomes, celebrating diversity, talent, and the co-created works developed throughout the program.

5. Sustainability in Culture
EU-CODE designs and monitors sustainability strategies to minimize the environmental impact of artistic practices and promote eco-friendly cultural events.

6. Dissemination and Visibility
A comprehensive communication strategy ensures that EU-CODE’s messages, results, and values reach a broad European audience — including institutions, educators, musicians, and cultural professionals.

Our Vision

EU-CODE envisions a vibrant, interconnected, and inclusive European music scene, where wind orchestras serve as platforms for dialogue, innovation, and diversity.
By empowering musicians and communities, we aim to set new standards in sustainability, participation, and artistic excellence.
