ACe20 for schools: Erasmus+, PCTO and cultural exchanges to grow in Europe

For over ten years, ACe20 has been working alongside Italian schools to bring Europe into the classroom and offer new opportunities for growth to students, teachers, and school leaders. Based in the Tuscia region, ACe20 is an organization specialized in Erasmus+ project design, PCTO pathways, and international cultural exchanges, always tailored to the specific needs of each school.

It all began in 2015 with a pilot project called SIE4E – Schools in English 4 Europe, developed in collaboration with the Istituto Omnicomprensivo of Orte. The project aimed to make schools more inclusive, open, and forward-thinking through the active and innovative use of the English language.
Since then, ACe20 has continued to grow, supporting dozens of schools particularly in the Tuscia area and guiding them through European mobility and cooperation initiatives.

What ACe20 Does for Schools

ACe20’s core mission is to support schools on their European journey through continuous, hands-on collaboration from project writing to management, communication, and reporting. The team works directly with teachers and school leaders to design pathways aligned with the school’s Three-Year Educational Plan (PTOF), ensuring they are truly beneficial for students.

One of ACe20’s main areas of activity is the Erasmus+ programme, which funds international mobility experiences for students and school staff. Thanks to ACe20’s guidance, more than 15 schools have obtained Erasmus+ KA120 accreditation, granting access to European funding until the end of the current seven-year cycle (2027). This enables schools to organize study trips, training courses, cultural exchanges, and professional development abroad every year without having to apply for new grants each time.

In addition, many other schools successfully carry out short-term Erasmus+ KA122 projects, further confirming the effectiveness of ACe20’s support in promoting the internationalization of the education system.

Education, travel and European citizenship

The projects followed by ACe20 allow students to participate in educational experiences abroad, improve language skills, learn about other cultures and strengthen their sense of European citizenship. It’s not just about travel: each activity is designed to have a real impact on the students’ growth path.

Teachers and school staff can also participate in mobility, attending structured courses, exchanging good practices with European colleagues and improving their professional skills through jobshadowing. These experiences also have a positive effect on the whole school, which becomes more open, innovative and inclusive.

ACe20 is also active in designing PCTOs (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) with a strong international component. In an increasingly global world, schools need to prepare their students for new challenges by providing concrete tools such as language proficiency, teamwork skills, critical thinking and adaptability.

A High-Quality European Network

One of ACe20’s key strengths lies in its international network. Thanks to long-standing relationships with schools, training providers, and institutions across Europe, Italian schools are offered reliable partners in all 27 EU member states, as well as in other Erasmus+ programme countries such as Norway, Iceland, Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia.

This network enables the organization of safe, well-structured, and high-quality experiences. Collaborating with international partners also allows for the development of multilateral projects, where schools from different countries work together on shared themes such as environmental sustainability, active citizenship, digital innovation, and inclusion.

An Educational Alliance Alongside Schools

ACe20 goes beyond project writing; it builds lasting relationships with schools, offering continuous and personalized support. Each institution is guided step by step, with careful attention to its specific needs and local context. This approach has led to the creation of sustainable pathways that extend beyond one-off experiences and become an integral part of school life.

Over the years, this work has produced tangible results: more motivated and aware students, better-trained teachers, and school leaders who are more prepared to manage the internationalization of their institutions. The schools involved are now more open to change and better connected to the rest of Europe.

Beyond school-based projects, ACe20 also takes part in European initiatives related to culture, communication, and sustainability. A notable example is the EU-CODE project, developed in collaboration with the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, which focuses on orchestras and music as tools for inclusion and co-creation.

A School That Looks to the Future

At a time when Europe is investing in education as a key to the future, ACe20 offers Italian schools a concrete tool for growth, innovation, and collaboration. Through Erasmus+ projects, international PCTO programmes, and cultural exchanges, students can explore the world and become more conscious citizens, while teachers gain new opportunities for professional development and exchange.

Choosing ACe20 means building a strong educational alliance, future-oriented and capable of turning the values of the European school system such as inclusion, cooperation, openness, and innovation into real, impactful actions.
