The STEP ONE - Sport Traditions Educate Players Of New Europe project saw the involvement of the UISP Territorial Committee of Terni in the Erasmus+ Sport Program, along with partners from Hungary, Poland, Greece and Cyprus, as well as other Italian associations such as the Hortae Pediludium 2014 D.P.F.C. amateur soccer team and the Sbandieratori delle Sette Contrade di Orte.
The primary goal of STEP ONE was to create new opportunities for athlete mobility, promote the exchange of best practices at the European level for the internationalization of amateur sports practices, foster intergenerational exchange between traditional and amateur sports, and actively support European Sports Week.
STEP ONE brought together amateur soccer clubs and traditional sports associations with the fundamental idea that the concept of "sport for all" was crucial not only for the individual progress of athletes, but also for building a more inclusive and cohesive society. The project emphasized the importance of an approach that is rooted in local traditions but also open and active at the European level, thus strengthening the social and cultural fabric of the communities involved.
