The 3WILL project-Working in Local Life Integration-was a worthy follow-up to the 2WILL project, funded in 2016 by the Europe for Citizens program for the Wieliszew municipality. Like its predecessor, 3WILL focused on the potential of networks and the promotion of new forms of civic and democratic engagement, while also analyzing the phenomenon of volunteerism and progress over the years. The partners kept alive the collaboration initiated at the end of the 2WILL project, in accordance with the signed cooperation agreement.
The project promoted a discussion on three key issues: EU solidarity, the risk of Euroskepticism, and the future of Europe, with volunteering at the center. The latter has played a crucial role for the EU, being a vehicle for personal and community development, social cohesion and active citizenship. In particular, youth volunteering provided an excellent non-formal learning opportunity for young people and contributed significantly to intergenerational solidarity.
The target group included citizens aged 18 to 40, with the main objectives of the 3WILL project including:

  • Analyze the development of volunteerism over the years, comparing the results achieved with the 2WILL project.
  • Fostering transnational volunteering and intergenerational solidarity in the Europe of the future.
  • Improve working conditions for young volunteers.
  • Achieve greater recognition of the value of volunteer activities and related skills.
  • Promoting cross-border volunteer and solidarity activities in the EU, breaking down barriers and stereotypes.
  • Fostering a sense of European citizenship, social and intercultural involvement.
  • Improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at the Union level through the direct involvement of citizens in project activities.
  • Gather suggestions and proposals for a better future.
